In order to provide flexibility and cost effective high performance computing the product will encompass Grid computing technology and commodity computing clusters, building on Globus and Condor middleware and Open Grid Service Architecture technologies. The GEODISE system will be implemented using the Matlab environment as an engineering portal giving remote access to CFD and design optimisation tools.

A number of key technologies will be harnessed, including:

  • Open Grid Services Architecture and Web Services
  • Design Optimisation techniques
  • Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
  • Workflow assembly and execution
  • Creation and provision of ontology services
  • Knowledge Management
  • Integrated computational and data services
  • Grid-enabled problem solving environment, exposed to the user as a Matlab toolbox
